Bill and Erik first appeared when I was high school, in one of the comics I would draw on printer paper, copy at Kinko’s, staple and force my friend Preston to buy. Erik was a superhero and Bill was a funny animal except that Erik was not a superhero and Bill wasn’t “funny.” I had named them after comic creators I liked at the time and I would produce one of their adventures about every 4 months or so.

I went to the University of Texas and would read the comics page in the student newspaper, the Daily Texas. There was one comic that was so bad and boring in both concept, art and joke execution that I thought, “even I could do better than this.” I submitted my first strip in September of 2000 and turned in my last strip upon graduation in May of 2003. Somewhere in between there, I was contacted by one mister Erik Horn, who liked the strip and wanted to do something with it. Erik designed the initial billanderik.com, served as its first webmaster and made some cartoons. Now everything’s run by this guy (points at himself).

I live in Austin, TX. I have a full time day job. I like laffing and shitty food and I hope bill and erik is funny.
